Agence eSanté is Luxembourg’s national agency for the exchange and sharing of health information. Established in 2010 its mission is to develop a national platform of eHealth services (interoperable with other Member States), define a national strategy to promote interoperability between health information management systems, collaborate with standards organisations, and advise authorities on strategic directions in health IT. Agence eSanté seeks to facilitate a seamless communication between all health professionals involved in a patient’s care, and the patient himself.
Agence eSanté’s board represents all stakeholders involved in the sector: association of patients, association of professionals, hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies, care structures, the social security and the government represented by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Security. Agence eSanté also collaborates with different committees and partners within its activities, e.g. the data protection authority, medical committees, public health committees. Its staff includes 16 people with specialisations in the all relevant domains.
